• Deidra Goodwin

    Founder/Experiential Educator
    (any/she/they)

Deidra tells everyone that if being a professional brainstormer was a career, that would be the one. Taking curiosity, an innate desire to analyze , and a love of facilitation and meaning making Deidra has been able to garner skillsets from several branches of the outdoors as a professional. From challenge course facilitation, environmental education, resource interpretation, commercial recreational guiding, intern development and program management, and now campaign strategy and adjunct instructor-dom. Deidra has a penchant for degrees that make people ask "So what do you do...?", holding a BA in Integrated Studies and an MS in Experiential and Outdoor Education. This varied, but definitely intentional, path has built an interdisciplinary thinker with a love for helping others take ownership of their experiences-especially as it relates to planning and action. • Fizzgig

    Aspiring Therapy Dog
    (he/him/his)

Fizzgig (or Fizz for short) is a 3 year old Papillon. He is currently training to be an American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen, among other AKC certifications, as well as working towards a therapy dog certification. Knowing the research behind the stress-relieving effects dogs can have, Fizz is part of the team to bring extra energy (calm or adventurous) to sessions he attends. He’s also a resource for lessons on effective communication. With ears like his, he’s a great listener! You may recognize those ears as the inspiration for the butterfly in DG Experiential logo. 9/10 times, if he hasn’t traveled to a workshop with Deidra, he’s waiting behind at the hotel, serving in his other official capacity as a travel companion. When not being the best mascot and travel buddy ever, Fizzgig is a budding agility dog and loves to run fast and jump over all the things. This partnership and trust in navigating obstacles serves as a metaphor for the collaborative nature of the work DGoodwin Experiential does.
